I discovered sea glass when I moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in 1988, and been collecting these lovely frosted gems ever since. I have amassed a collection of sea glass from both the OBX and from around the world but I sill get a special thrill when I hold a unique and rare piece in my hand.

Linda is self taught in jewelry making and this adds to the unique wire wrapping style. . Every piece is a mini sculpture in itself, using 14K G/F and Sterling wire to enclose these recycled gems and turn them into jewelry. Her Bezel wire setting is a trademarked setting that leaves both front and back of the sea glass open so the wearer can reach up and feel the glass Gathering inspiration from nature and the beach, the distinctive signature wrap - technically termed 'squiggles', seems to mimic the sand after the tide has receded. By The Sea Jewelry will soon be offering quality silver set bezel settings.

Linda was one of the founding board members of the NASGA,a group formed by professional sea glass collectors, authors, artisans, and retailers. The NASGA is an organization with a primary goal: to inform collectors and retailers about the inherent properties of genuine sea glass versus the artificial, tumbled craft glass, which is commonly being sold and often misrepresented as genuine sea glass.

The NASGA will establish guidelines to differentiate genuine from fake sea glass, assist retailers in marketing genuine beach sea glass. The Sea Glass Association will provide a community link to field trips, lectures, workshops, festivals, web sites, and more. The NASGA will soon be announcing our first Sea Glass Festival to be held in Santa Cruz California in October of 2006.

Those involved in the creation of the NASGA are leaders in their fields and respected members of the sea glass community: Richard LaMotte author of Pure Sea Glass , C. S. Lambert author of Sea Glass Chronicles, artists in other retail businesses, as well as experienced collectors.

Membership to the NASGA will be available to sea glass collectors,artisans or anyone wishing to share their passion for these vanishing gems.
