You got to dance like there's nobody watching
And love like it's never going to hurt...

Roy O Rhubright I
April 8, 1938 - February 9th, 2003

On February 9th my father lost his year battle with throat cancer. He fought a good fight & even stubbornly insisted on driving himself to 6 weeks of daily radiation and months of chemo. He died with loved ones around him and his favorite singer, Willie Nelson, singing "Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground" playing in the back ground.

I would like to thank my customers for their understanding and support in my families time of grief and in my many months taken from sea glass jewelry business. The kind words and letters I received both from customers and strangers has renewed my faith in humanity. I am certainly fortunate to be doing the work I do and to be interacting with some of the nicest people on the internet.

This song was written by my bother in law Andy Waldeck about my father. "Say the Words" My father died without begin able to speak or communicate with anything other than his eyes for months, which is ironic in that he was a salesman all his life. He did however pass peacefully with the help of his family, hospice workers and nurses and one very kind doctor. We strongly support the legalization of Euthanasia for humans as a conscious choice for those with excruciatingly painful terminal illness. We help our pets die but watch as loved ones spend months in suffering agony.
Please also help in the fight with cancer! American Cancer Society

Joe The Dog
April 6, 1988 - May 2, 2000
On Tuesday May 2, I lost my beloved Joe.
He walked many miles with me on the beach, fetched thousands of pieces of driftwood, and never failed to look at me with adoration and love. He gave without asking in return, was grateful for every moment I spent with him and never complained even at the end, even when cancer had reduced him to pain. I held this exceptional being as he left this world, and I can only hope that God is loving enough to let me see him once again!

If I could be half the person he was, I would be an exceptional human!
He was my best friend!
Thank You Joe
I LOVE YOU!

H Everett Hill
1947-2004
Everett was a dear friend who tragically died from an accident sustained at work. One of the sweetest people to cross our path, I never heard him say a bad word about anyone.

He was a musician who spend many years playing with beach bands such as Bill Deal, The Rhondels, Fat Ammons Band and Express. He lived to entertain and make people happy. He is sorely missed every day.
